Your humble blogger with ambitions of one day running his own cheese shop is among a few from around the country chosen to test samples of a new alpine style cheese currently in development at Jasper Hill Farm.

- Somewhere in there… a new cheese is born.
The 2012 Birth of a Cheese event is run by the nation’s leading Cheese magazine, Culture. Thanks for choosing Wedge in the Round!
Time to put the lessons from the Cheese School to the test… just a little bit of pressure on me…
In the coming weeks and months, I’ll be tasting samples of the cheeses and blogging for Culture on their site. I’ll also cross-post here at WitR.Please spread the word, share the posts, tell your friends, eat more cheese!
The first samples have arrived and are warming up as I write for tonight’s first tasting and note-taking. For now, here is a tease:

The new cheese from Jasper Hill has arrived! Thoughts coming soon!
Hi-I wanted to thank you for reposting my blog about the Picton Cheese Festival. Also, this Jasper Hills cheese creation is awesome. Did I just read results in the latest culture? Or was that last years Birth of a Cheese. I will follow!
Hi Sue – pleasure to “meet” you! Love your blog. The Culture article was last year’s cheese. This year we have all had only one very young sample to date. It was met with, ummm… a cool reception.
Certainly still in development. It’s a fun process to be a part of!
