Concord Cheese Shop rolls out Christmastime ritual

Forget the carol sings, Santa visits and Main Street shopping extravaganzas. Massachusetts now has a new holiday tradition – and it’s more than a little bit cheesy.

More than 200 people crowded the normally-quiet streets of downtown Concord last month to cheer on the arrival of a 400-pound wheel of Crucolo cheese from northern Italy. People lined up just to have their pictures taken with the thing. There were dancers, a red carpet, and the obligatory Crucolo Cheese Day proclamation from Concord’s board of selectmen.

Salutation Recipes

I'm trying to keep a log of all the things we cook which taste really lovely. You know what it's like: you tweak and tweak a recipe until it's barely recognisable and then wonder how you used to make it. And it will also save a lot of time and bits of paper when it comes to sharing those recipes with friends.
