Cheese meet and greet around Austria
The organisation of Austrian Cheese Sommeliers (VKSÖ) have organised a series of meet and greet events in Austria in honour of cheese and wine offerings from around the world. Cheese sommelier, Christine Nußbaumer will lead the proceedings, enlightening visitors on the subject of goats, sheep and cows milk cheeses.
The VKSÖ, which was founded in October 2006, is a non-profit organisation for qualified cheese sommeliers, producers and those in the restaurant and tourism industry. The organisation currently has 250 members providing the perfect platform for all involved in the cheese making business.
In March and April, cheese fans are given the chance to discovery several types of Austrian and international cheeses all under the professional instruction of the organisations 2011 sommelier of the year. Visitors to the event will have the chance to sample these cheeses alongside various wines from the 2011 Salon Austria Wine Awards.
The event entitled “Meet and Greet – Cow meets Sheep and Goats” costs 39 Euros per person and will take place on the following dates:
15 March 2012 in Salzburg at 6.30pm (location not yet confirmed)
13 April 2012 in the Sebastiankeller in Oggau
17 April 2012 at Der Gallier in Graz
