Chocolate and Stilton… yeah, you heard me

Would appear that our friends in Blighty begin National Stilton Week today.Yes that’s a Stilton, chocolate and BACON sandwich.

From the Local Guardian… excerpt:

Award-winning master chocolatier Paul Young is showcasing a selection of unusual recipes for National Stilton Week.

The event, running from April 15 to 21, will see the likes of stilton, chocolate and cured bacon sandwiches as well as stilton and port truffles.

Fortnum and Mason (a Wedge in the Round favorite shop!)  is holding a whole host of in-store events:

 

On Monday 16 until Friday 20 April the First Floor Demonstration Kitchen will play host to heavenly happenings centered on Stilton, showing its versatility in a variety of recipes.

 

The Lower Ground Floor cheese counter will tempt you with tasting tidbits of delicious Stilton. Foodies will be given the chance to win their very own Stilton truckle on the Lower Ground Floor with a guess the weight competition. This is not a prize to be sniffed at as the winning truckle is made by the last family-owned Stilton producer in the UK, Cropwell Bishop.

 

The 1707 Wine Bar will be offering a special plate of Fortnum & Mason famous Port and Stilton throughout the week. For 1707 Wine Bar reservations please call: 0845 602 5694
