Janet Fletcher: Westcombe Cheddar a dessert in the making

Heartily agree- traditional cheddars are an excellent choice for the Christmas board!

“On holiday cheese platters, a hefty wedge of farmstead cheddar belongs right next to the Stilton. Add some pears and sliced panforte, and you’ve got dessert.

For good value, I’m not sure you can do better than the Borough Market Westcombe Cheddar, a classic cloth-bound wheel from England.

Along with Montgomery’s and Keen’s, Westcombe is one of only three remaining creameries making cheddar in the county of Somerset by traditional methods, at least as these producers define it.”

Salutation Recipes

I'm trying to keep a log of all the things we cook which taste really lovely. You know what it's like: you tweak and tweak a recipe until it's barely recognisable and then wonder how you used to make it. And it will also save a lot of time and bits of paper when it comes to sharing those recipes with friends.
