The event, called Ahead of the Curd, honors the late Daphne Zepos, an influential star in the cheese world. Zepos, a native of Greece who lived in San Francisco, died last summer at age 52. She was an international expert on artisanal cheeses and cheesemaking. The scholarship established in her name is the Daphne Zepos Teaching Award.

The Burlington event is organized by a handful of Vermonters, including cheesemakers and cookbook author Molly Stevens. There will be a variety of Vermont specialty foods at the fundraiser: cheese, of course, and charcuterie, sweets, breads, pickles and more.

Salutation Recipes

I'm trying to keep a log of all the things we cook which taste really lovely. You know what it's like: you tweak and tweak a recipe until it's barely recognisable and then wonder how you used to make it. And it will also save a lot of time and bits of paper when it comes to sharing those recipes with friends.
